I don’t normally write reviews, but this product did exactly what it promised to do. We had a ton of fruit flies from some forgotten tomatoes. I plugged this in and within 6 hours, the problem was handled. It’s sleek, silent, and shockingly effective.

Setting expectations. I've seen people complain these don't work for certain bugs - false! You can't bust this thing out and watch every bug in the room immediately swarm to it…. Not how it works people. Set it out, overnight - Wake up & Wa La… on two occasions It took two nights. What you people need isn't a bug trap, it's patience and realistic expectations. If it ain't working, you ain't using it right people.

Setting Realistic Expectations

Anyone that buys one of these traps that expects every bug in the room to immediately get trapped - It's going to be a long road, this life. I own two of these glowguards - they work great for overnight bug reduction. I have one in my garage plugged-in and on night mode so when we pull in our cars//shut the garage door//turn out the lights - any bugs that would have eventually made it into the house now end up on this little trap by morning 98% of the time.

Lets talk about the 2% of the time it doesn't work. I've read lots of reviews about this not working for nats and I've come to the conclusion that there are some species of gnats possibly fruit flies that are not drawn to these UV light traps (I have a zevo too) at certain stages in their lifecycle. I say this because we have a second trap in our house that we use in our pool/guest bathroom. We've had a few stubborn little gnats/fruit flies (I think) that lasted 2 nights without getting caught. HOWEVER, by the end of the 3rd night any hold-outs are always gonners by morning. I have also noticed in my office, if my laptop screen is on/open the light from it will prevent the trap from being 100% effective. I think most people that complain about these not working - they either aren't giving it enough time, they haven't removed food sources, or there's some other lights in the room. How do I know this? I've had these two traps for about 2 months and have seen every type of bug and eventually they all end up on the glue-cards. just a matter of using it right.

So why 3 stars? 1. There's a warning sticker on the box about the charging lights not coming on when you first plug it in. Well I missed that sticker and thought they were both broken until I went to send it back and saw the sticker. 2. The traps can be plugged in 24/7 and still work but they have to be fully charged... if they aren't you have to press the power button 3-6 times for the device to come on while plugged in.
